This research topic intends to improve the information about processes and make easier its operation. In particular:
- Methods for fault detection and diagnosis (FDD), for identifying elements not working properly and taking corresponding actions to solve it.
- Methods for data reconciliation for estimating variables and compensate incorrect measurements, with applications in refineries and natural fibers factories
- Fault-tolerant control, which implies the design of control systems able to work even in presence of faults.
- Supervision of online controllers, for detecting abnormal behaviour of control systems based on process data.
